PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE OF AN EVOLVING CREATIVITY

HOW DO YOU INTRODUCE US TOO YOUR PROFESSIONAL TRAJECTORY?

Like many artists, we often launch our creations hoping they'll be well-received, but there's always a level of speculation. However, thanks to experiences like festivals and other opportunities that have come my way, I'm truly starting to see my work as something viable and meaningful.

It's interesting how fear sometimes holds us back as artists, especially when taking that leap forward. We hear voices warning us about the difficulty and lack of money in this industry, at least here in Mexico, where I reside.

A pivotal point in my artistic development was when I stopped constantly comparing myself to others and instead focused on finding my own voice. That's when I truly discovered what I wanted to express and how I wanted to connect with people who appreciate my work. In a way, freeing myself from those comparisons allowed me to flourish and feel more authentic in what I was doing.

Regarding validity in this industry, I wholeheartedly agree that it's a constant challenge. Sometimes, you have to convince yourself that you're valid because I learned that even if others tell you so, if you don't believe it yourself, you won't progress.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE YOURSELF AS AN ARTIST IN A SOCIETY WHERE THE WORD 'ART' IS INCREASINGLY BROAD AND ENCOMPASSES SO MANY MODALITIES?

In my opinion, art is an expression in constant evolution, shaped by the cultural, technological, and personal influences that surround us.

Personally, I don't see art as something exclusively traditional or conventional. Instead, I consider it a blank canvas where I can explore and merge different forms of expression. From the plastic to the audiovisual, I find that my creativity is nourished by various disciplines and approaches.

My work can involve sculpture, animation, film, or any other form that allows me to convey my vision. It's important for me to remain curious and open to new techniques and approaches because I believe that versatility enriches my artistic expression.

As for how I define myself in this society, I would say I'm an artist in constant search of connection and resonance. My goal is to create works that are not only visually striking but also provoke reflection and emotion in those who experience them. I don't aspire to fit into a single definition of art but to explore boundaries and challenge expectations to create something authentic and significant.

WHAT PROJECT WOULD YOU HIGHLIGHT THROUGHOUT YOUR PROFESSIONAL CAREER AS THE BIGGEST PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL CHALLENGE FOR YOU?

Although some of my plastic creations may have a limited audience due to their nature, the use of audiovisual elements allows me to reach a wider audience. My goal is to combine visual and auditory elements to achieve an enriching and participatory experience.

The structure itself is a replica of a miniature house, full of intricate details and striking colors to capture attention from the outset. What makes 'La Casita' truly special is its interactive nature.

I wanted people to be drawn to the piece and then fully engage with it, exploring every detail and discovering surprises in every corner.

IT SEEMS LIKE YOU WORK IN PRODUCTION DESIGN, ART DIRECTION, MAKEUP AND FX, PROP MAKING, ANIMATION, AND SCENOGRAPHY. HOW DO THESE SKILLS COME TO YOU? OR RATHER, HOW DOES CURIOSITY FOR THESE ARTS ARISE?

The diverse knowledge I encompass in my work, from production design and art direction to makeup and special effects, prop making, animation, and scenography, stems from a mix of innate curiosity and a constant quest for learning. From an early age, I've always felt a fascination for creativity in all its forms.

I grew up exploring different art forms, from painting to animation, which ignited an insatiable thirst for more knowledge.

My curiosity drove me to explore various disciplines, to delve into worlds that might not have seemed directly related but, in reality, complemented each other in surprising ways. As I immersed myself in each area, I discovered connections and possibilities that enriched my artistic vision.

The inspiration to venture into these arts comes from the idea that each of them brings a unique hue to my creative ability.

The diversity of knowledge allows me not only to express my ideas more comprehensively but also to collaborate more effectively with other professionals in the art and entertainment industry.
